BLACK Carbon coating of the "Watch Case, Bezel & Bracelet" is acheived by applying a derivative of a process commonly known as "Diamond Like Carbon" or "DLC" to the stainless steel elements of the watch.

The effect works on both polished and brush stainless steel surfaces

The look can be further enhanced or by pre-polishing the watch before application with an alternate mirror or satin finish, (Refer to the "Alternative Polishing of - Watch Cases and - Watch Bracelets" option for further details)

Originally developed by the Russian military for use on Helicoptor blades it is now being used in a growing number of industries, such as engineering (F1, NASA)  and bio-engineering, due to its lo-friction protective qualities. As the name (Diamond like) suggests, the coating is far more resistant to abrasion than normal steel (and PVD coatings).

Project X Designs have developed their own formula to create an optimum finish, enhancing both the look and durability of the original watch.

The process IS reversible (and is a service that we can offer)

The price includes coating of the entire watches case, bezel, bracelet, caseback and all stainless steel outer parts . (except Hands)
