Carbon BLACK coating of the WATCH HANDS is achieved by applying a derivative of a process commonly knkwn asas "Diamond Like Carbon" or "DLC" to the stainless steel elements of the watch.

The effect works on both polished and brush stainless steel surfaces

Originally developed by the Russian military for use on Helicoptor blades it is now being used in a growing number of industries, such as engineering (F1, NASA)  and bio-engineering, due to its lo-friction protective qualities. As the name ("Diamond" like) suggests, the coating is far more resistant to abrasion than normal steel (and PVD coatings).

Project X Designs have developed their own formula to create an optimum finish, enhancing both the look and durability of the original watch.

The process IS reversible (and is a service that we can offer)

The price includes coating of the entire HANDSET and re-application of any luminous material.
